FAQs

Do I need a lawyer to pursue my personal injury claim?
The best answer is “Yes”, although technically you may be able to pursue your claim on your own. Unfortunately, many people mistakenly believe that the insurance adjuster on the other end of the line has their best interests at heart, and by working with them directly, they will be able to quickly and efficiently handle their claim. The truth is, insurance adjusters don’t work for you – they work for the insurance company. Their bottom line is to keep costs down, and to pay out as little as possible. They won’t adequately counsel you regarding your rights, or advise you what kind of monetary benefit you are entitled to (i.e. lost wages, pain and suffering, reimbursement of medical costs, etc.). Therefore, with an attorney on your side, you have a much higher chance of a successful settlement. In any event, if you’re unsure whether you need a lawyer, call our office for a free case evaluation to see how we can help you.

Can I switch attorneys if I’m unhappy with my current attorney?
As a client, you certainly have the right to change your attorney if you are unhappy with the representation. However, it’s important to make sure that you are moving on for the right reasons. Be sure to clearly communicate with your attorney that you are unhappy with his or her service before proceeding to hire new representation. If you feel that communication is lacking, ask for an update on the status of your case or perhaps schedule a face-to-face meeting to see if you can both be on the same page again. However, if you communicate your frustrations and your attorney is still not satisfactorily communicating with you, then it may be best to move on.

What if I am unable to meet at your office?
We are able to represent our clients very successfully, even if we don’t have the opportunity to meet them face-to-face. Of course, if you would like to meet in person but are unable to do so due to the nature of your injuries or your location, we may be able to arrange at meeting at one of our various office locations, your home, or any meeting place you wish.

Do I have to go to court?
Our firm has a 98% settlement rate, which means we are very good at settling cases outside of court. Therefore, in all likelihood, you will not have to go to court in order to receive monetary compensation for your injury claim. However, insurance companies are known for offering unreasonably low settlement amounts and, if they don’t increase their offer to be “fair”, we may decide to pursue the claim in court by filing a lawsuit on your behalf. It all depends on the nature of your injuries and the circumstances of the case – and every case is different. During the course of your representation, we will discuss whether it is advisable to go to court or file a lawsuit.
